We began our journey by landing in LAX to be ferried to Palm Desert by a shuttle car service. Upon arriving in Palm Desert we were greeted with first class hospitality and lodging from our Aunt and to us kids, Great Aunt June, her niece Bonnie and her Husband Fred. We had an exceptional time, and were probably a massive imposition, but June, Bonnie and Fred were tolerant of our antics.
After the initial jet lag of the 13 hour plane trip from Sydney to LAX, everybody was keen to do a little sight seeing. Mum decided to go to Palm Deserts very own Rodeo Drive, El Paso, and found that it was the superior shopping district to visit if indeed that is your sought of thing. Edward, Shaun, Thomas and James however were not as keen, to accompany their mother, so Fred was gracious enough to take us boys on a little adventure. Fred took us up on the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway was constructed in rugged Chino Canyon on the north edge of Palm Springs. It is a fantastic ride up through the canyon as the tram takes you up the mountain it rotates 360 degrees to allow a full view of the canyon and the distant valley below.
